The Kansas City Assembly Plant scrapbooks consist of two scrapbooks of news clippings related chiefly to the Ford Motor Company assembly plant in Kansas City, Missouri, but also about the Ford Motor Company in general. The primary focus of the scrapbooks is labor relations and union activities and conflicts, especially during the 1930s, with articles on strikes, negotiations, and lawsuits involving the UAW and UAW-CIO and the NLRB. Also present are news items on such topics as the Ford family (marriages, births, etc.), upper-level executives, financial performance, charitable giving, plant construction, and new car models, in particular the Ford Falcon.

Industrialist and philanthropist Henry Ford, born July 30, 1863, grew up on a farm in what is now Dearborn, Michigan. Mechanically inclined from an early age, he worked in Detroit machine shops as a young man and became an engineer at the Edison Illuminating Company in 1891.
